A new project
When Rachel's parents came to Albany, they brought a dining table and chairs that belonged to her Grandparents Brockman. Grandma Brockman did the needlepoint on the worn-out seats. As nice as they are, they're decades old and needed updating. So Rachel took it upon herself to learn how to do it.Before . . .

One of our weekend projects was getting all our family photos up. They look great. How can you tell that Ben's really a student?
He's got a desk. And it's one so big (and his study is so small) that the camera can't capture it in one shot. It's a very cool, very large, parson's desk that just barely fits in the room. He spent most of last night sitting at it, studying Abnormal Psychology. Wednesday, January 25, 2006

We started a new project last weekend. We didn't know what to do with the hallway and we didn't have any place to put our bookshelves. So, we decided to make bookshelves to put in our hallway. Watch the progression . . .

we haven't stripped the wallpaper and painted yet, but we decided it was time to make it look like home, anyway. Stay tuned in the next few weeks for a change in wall color.

Our cat arrived on Thursday afternoon. Thank you to Matt and Jamie in San Diego for taking care of her for the last couple of months. She's not as freaked out as she was when she first arrived, but you might be able to tell that she's not entirely relaxed, either. what happens when Ben starts using Super Glue

Corporal Kennedy!
Ben got promoted! He's got more respect at work and we've both got a little more money in the bank each month. What could be better. For those of you paying attention, those chevrons on his lapel are those of a Corporal, no longer a lowly Lance Corporal. Shelving progress
We made huge leaps forward in the shelving project last night. There's still a lot to be done before they're "done" (finishing each shelf, adding molding to the top, putting doors on front), but they're usable! Annie just loves to help out
She'll do anything to help with a home improvement project, from always being right underneath your feet to licking and fingers in range.
