kitchen!

There's plenty left to be done -- baseboard, molding around windows and doors, tiling the counters, making shelves-- but we now have a fully functional kitchen. It is open and bright and we're really happy with it. There's much more light, it's CLEAN and it's more our style than the grandma kitchen we moved in to.

a couple of reminders of what our kitchen used to look like (p.s. it still often has a Corona on the counter)

This is a shot from almost the same vantage as the first picture of our new kitchen.
Dog Water Park

We took a trip to our favorite dog park yesterday in the middle of the day, when it was super hot and muggy. Every time we go, Sen gets more comfortable in the water and he has more and more energy. Yesterday was a great time.

Sen may be a water dog, but he still needs reassurance from Papa every once in a while.

It's hard to get a picture of our two dogs together, because Annie usually tries to be wherever Sen is not.

Sen made his first friend, a 10-week-old pit bull puppy. She was the first dog that he played with for a long time.

There was an absolute herd of big dogs chasing sticks into the water. We kept thinking that Senator will be right there with them next summer.

Annie has plenty of fun at the river, too.

more pictures of Sen

Rachel's new favorite picture of her boys -- Ben and Sen.

Ben doesn't like his little boy playing with a pink toy, but Sen's warming to it.

This is the look that turns Ben and Rachel ito incredible suckers.

It's been a very very long day.

Most puppies chew on shoes, but this is rediculous.

Introducing Rockrun Senator Kennedonald

We met our boy this morning for the first time. You can look forward to many pictures of him to come. And, you can just call him Senator, or "Sen."

Look at those baby blues. He had fallen asleep in his water dish before we got there -- that's the water on his neck.

Sen's on the right, his brother on the left.

This is pretty much how Annie feels about the puppy. What puppy? I don't see any puppy.

after a long day for everyone
